Signing season is right around the corner and one of the most frequently asked questions I see in signing groups is what could I get signed that isn’t a book. I personally am never prepared with anything because I’m pretty much a slacker and the signing creeps up on me. So, I have scoured the internet to come up with some ideas for you if you don’t have the money to buy all the books but still want to have authors sign something.

There are two more common ideas that I’ve seen over and over, a Kindle case and a photobook/scrapbook.  I’m going to be frank with you. These are not my favorite ideas, because they are more likely to end up being misplaced by me.

INSTAX CAMERA

If you’re set on making a book, a really fun way to do this would be to take a picture with the author and have them sign on the bottom of the picture! You will be able to create a really cute scrapbook out of these photos or you could string them along your wall using mini clothes pins!

The two big bonuses here are that both the pictures and the camera itself look great in bookstagram shots!  What better way to commemorate a fun event?

SIGNATURE VASE

This is probably my favorite idea, because a vase is just so practical and I’m here for it. Sure it might be a little crazy carting it around, but it would look like perfection sitting on your bookshelf or really anywhere in your home.  Keep those authors you adore always on display with a cute white ceramic vase!  I even found this website that will personalize the vase for you if you want to get the signing name printed on the vase itself!

SINGNATURE GLOBE

Finally, I have a globe! This is similar to the vase where it can constantly be on display, just lower maintenance because you don’t have to constantly purchase fresh flowers and clean it out. With a globe you just have to dust it occasionally and that will only take a few minutes and you’re done. Now the con when it comes to the globe is that it isn’t as easy to carry around and it’s going to be in a constant state of movement.  But look how freaking cute it is!!
