What advice would you give to other single fathers?
Put your children over everything else in your life and make sure they know their roots. They can’t go forward until they know from whence they came. Teach them who they are.
What’s the hardest part of parenting on your own?
When my 6 year old asks me a question I don’t have the answer to. Sometimes, I wish I had a partner to kick the question too. Someone to share the wealth of impossible inquiries with!
What’s a skill every single dad should/what tool should he have in his arsenal?
The ability to make a great grilled cheese sandwich; the gooier the better! It can pass as breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a crunch!
What’s your favorite thing to do with you kid(s)?
I love picking Gabrielle up from school. It’s our special time to sing along to Afro-French music and talk bout our day. With Henri, I love staring his eyes. I see the best parts of myself in his gaze.
If you could teach you child(ren) one thing what would it be?
That their minority is a gift to the majority. Their lives matter!
