Chemistry is my love language.
I’ve always been able to separate feelings from chemosignals. A shot of dopamine, a dash of serotonin, and a sprinkle of oxytocin—and bam. You’re in love.
And when egg meets sperm, you’re pregnant.
I couldn’t even be surprised as I stared down at the little blue plus sign, because I knew exactly when and how, and with whom it happened.
When: approximately five weeks ago.
Who: one night stand.
How: prophylactic malfunction.
The upside? I don’t have to go looking for a suitable mate.
Genetically, he’s the cream of the crop. His musculature is a study in symmetry and strength, his height imposing and dominant. He is a man who thrives on control and command, a man who survives on intelligence and resourcefulness. A perfect male specimen.
And the whole package is wrapped up in a flawlessly tailored suit.
I’m having this baby, and he insists we’re well-suited to have it together. And what’s worse? He wants more, in the way of love and marriage.
But love isn’t real. It’s just a product of chemistry.
And if he changes my mind about that, we’re both in trouble.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Well Suited by Staci Hart, the final book in the Red Lipstick Coalition series, was an adorably frustrating surprise pregnancy romance that I enjoyed!
Katherine is a character that was a bit hard for me to love at times. Her brain and thought processes were just so different than mine that at times I had difficulty connecting with her. That said the farther into her pregnancy it was almost as if she became more human to me. I don’t know if I’m describing that right or not. She was just smart and analytical in the beginning, just completely ruled by logic, versus emotions.
If you’ve ever had a baby you know how easy it is to be ruled by emotions and the farther along we got into Well Suited, we saw a transformation in Katherine. Although, that wasn’t just because of the baby. A big contributing factor as well was Theo.
The title, Well Suited, has a double meaning, because Theo loves suits, but also because Theo is perfectly suited for Katherine. I may not have understood her, but dang, our boy Theo did and he pursued her hard without her even realizing what was happening. He was the tortoise in the Tortoise and Hare. He was slow and steady and had her falling in love without ever realizing it.
Well Suited takes you from conception to delivery in a romantic comedy with a brilliant woman who unwittingly gets pregnant by the perfect man for her!
