Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in…well, everything. Her identical twin sister Ami, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag) and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of Internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Olive braces herself to get through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, unlucky life. But when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. And now there’s an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs.

Putting their mutual hatred aside for the sake of a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head for paradise, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive runs into her future boss, the little white lie she tells him is suddenly at risk to become a whole lot bigger. She and Ethan now have to pretend to be loving newlyweds, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels kind of… lucky.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Okay, so.. The Unhoneymooners. Let’s just say that I’m going to tell you like I was told. STICK WITH THIS ONE. The beginning had me like … really? This is so slow, why do they even hate each other ugh. But, after chatting with a couple of friends, Richelle and Bex, I decided that I would stick with and boy did it pay off.

It paid of big time, because the last quarter of The Unhoneymooners was a-freaking-mazing!!

I’m also going to admit that the beginning when our fake couple, Olive and Ethan, had some super awkward moments that made me feel particularly particularly uncomfortable. They were thrust in situations that in real life you and I would both be anxious, I mean hello you have to act like a newly wed to a man that you despise!

Once the unhoneymooners, realized that there was some misinterpreting things sped up really quick between the, you know what they say, there is a fine line between love and hate.

ALSO. OMG! The secrets that were kept and the reasons why these two had their big miss was gold and I thoroughly enjoyed. Also. One of these characters might just be the queen of petty!
