Sparks fly between a die-hard romantic and a sexy cynic in this fresh, funny romance from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke.
That cream-filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can’t deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn’t believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor’s irresistible charms can’t end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot?
Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talking, kissable mouth sounds pretty perfect. Besides, he’s only going to be in Dogwood Lane for one week. How much trouble could they possibly get into?
The only answer? A “no falling in love” contract. All Trevor and Haley have to do is follow the rules and resist the attraction sizzling between them…before their hearts get completely tangled up in temptation.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I’d been long since anticipating reading Tangle by Adriana Locke, since I listened to Tumble on a road trip home from Austin. I decided that since the audio was free with Kindle Unlimited that I would listen to this one as well while walking during my lunch breaks.
Unfortunately I think that this hurt the story for me because I was only listening in bits and pieces and so it made the story feel choppy, which it wasn’t it was just the way it felt because of the I listened.
All of that said, once I unplugged the audio and read the story I was hooked and I couldn’t stop reading it. The moment that Trevor realized that he was in love with Haley made my heart soar, I don’t know how to describe, but the moment a hero realizes he’s fallen in love I just have hearts in my eyes.
The way that Trevor and Haley, who had a opposing views on love, just clicked and became friends, fighting through the sexual tension to stay just friends was fun to watch unfold. Although, I did enjoy their friendship, along with the characters from town that we met in the previous story, it was their slow burning tension that sealed the deal for me.
Tangle is a slow burn, small town romance that will have you laughing and swooning, it might even break your heart, but I’ve very much enjoyed the Dogwood Lane series by Adrian Locke and I can’t wait for more from the series.
