I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance.”
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I used to think that there was no way possible for any of these other puckers could replace Randy Balls as number 1 in my heart from this series and boy was I wrong! Lance ‘Romance’ Romero obliterated my heart!
“Sometimes it’s hard to tell your heart not to want someone, even if all the do is hurt you.”
We finally learn what the deal is between Tash and Lance and man oh man was I blindsided, just like Lance’s teammates. We only saw bit of their relationship through others eyes, and wow just wow. Not at all what I was expecting.
Pucked Off was so much more than over the top humor, we still have some because Violet is still a part of the story and Vi is just as hysterical as ever. Lance’s story brought the angst out. Lance had a rough go of life leading up to where he is now. He is sweet under his tough guy exterior.
“I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want her. I don’t want to claim, fuck, devour. I want to be worthy, and I’m afraid I never will be.”
Pucked Off is a turn from the normal Pucked series, but this second chance romance is a must read for all romance book lovers.
