As the bad boy drummer for the multi-platinum band Vail, Ethan Fuller thinks he’s invincible. He acts on impulse and has committed to the stereotypes of the rock star life with no regard for consequences. The one girl who had the power to tame him is just a distant memory.
Now that she has landed the opening gig on Vail’s next tour, Maci Dane is on the path to everything she always wanted. Fame, success, and money are trivial compared to her real objective: to break the heart of the one who broke hers.
When they meet face to face for the first time in nearly two decades, Ethan is reminded of the one who got away while Maci works tirelessly to hide her past. As she attempts to even the score, feelings from the past are rekindled. Will she give into love or use her power to break him?
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
OH MY GOSH!! Lisa Suzanne just SLAYED me with the ending of The Power to Break! I am dying to know what’s going to happen when the book picks back up. I feel like the characters are still living and breathing and I’m just missing it. It’s such a strange feeling to have, because you feel this desire to pick the book back up and find out what is happening, only to realize that it’s the end. There is nothing else. There are no more pages to read right now. I AM GOING CRAZY.
Saying that though, I kind of love this feeling and knowing that I will get more and it will be more than I even knew I wanted. The conclusion of this duet I’m sure will bring the drama. I LOVE the drama and angst and nerves. Eek! I can’t wait.
Back to The Power to Break, I’m sure you want to know about more than just the ending, right?
When I met Ethan in A Little Like Destiny, I thought he was nothing but a grade A jerk! Thought that there was no way that I would like him, but boy was I wrong. I LOVE ETHAN! He breaks my heart from all that he has dealt with in his past. He had it rough, but he has gone and done great things. You know, when he isn’t doing hard drugs. You can see as a reader how he is just a softy deep down.
And the reason why I had to give this book 4 stars instead of 5. I don’t like Maci. There I said. Not all the way, but half of the time. She is just very irrational and immature when it comes to Ethan and she frustrated the living crap out of me. I just wanted to shout GET OVER IT! I obviously feel like she is redeemable and I really enjoyed this book but sometimes Maci made me want to cover my eyes in embarrassment for her.
The Power to Break is a roller coaster! One minute things are going hunky dory and then the next the carpet is pulled out from under you. Also if you read the the A Little Like Destiny you are going to love getting to watch their sickeningly sweet romance played out some more!
Overall I’m going to say with an resounding YES read this book and suffer with me while we anticipate the release to the conclusion of Ethan and Maci’s love story!
