Archer has always wanted what he can’t have—Quinn Dawson. Since the moment he saw her, he’s been denying his feelings for her, ignoring the void in his heart he knows only she can fill.
Everything about them was wrong, the kind of wrong that felt so right. But none of it mattered. Not the terrible timing. And definitely not the mess it would create if Archer made a move on his best friend’s baby sister.
It was supposed to be one night, but one night is all it takes to make everything more complicated, and they only have nine short months to sort it all out.
No, none of it mattered. Until it did.
Cheat Codes probably deserves five stars, but I’m currently being petty. This story is book one in a duet. I picked up Cheat Codes wanting to read a standalone surprise pregnancy romance, then I got to the end and the rug was pulled out from under me and I was LIVID. Not only is it a duet, with a cliffhanger the second part isn’t out yet! Like WTF man. I had to wait almost 24 hours to write this review so that I wouldn’t just sit here and blast it for not telling me up front that there is a cliff.
For the record. I actually love cliffhangers, when I knowingly go into them.
Other than that ending, Cheat Codes was everything that I wanted! I have baby fever and surprise pregnancy novels help curb that urge for me. I love the nauseous, morning sickness feeling I get in my gut when our heroins are throwing up all the time. Not only do we get my all time favorite trope, but the story is amped up by Quinn hooking up with her teenage crush and brothers best friend!! ALSO! I’m a sucker for large families and getting to watch them fall in love. (My all time favorite are the Morgan’s by Lauren Rowe).
Ultimately Cheat Codes by Emily Goodwin is an amazing read that I couldn’t put down. The way that Quinn and Archer fall in love is unconventional, but no less swoony and romantic. I can’t wait to read the conclusion of their story and see where it goes from here.
