Ladies,
I know how things look from the outside. I’m rich. I’m a successful surgeon. I’m handsome. I should have women lining up from here to New Jersey clawing for space in my bed, but there’s one huge catch.
I’m f*cking awkward.
Every time I get a date, I spoil it. Asked if she’s pregnant? Check. Forgot her name? Check. Bought a meat lover’s pizza for my vegan girlfriend? Check, check, check.
This is why my best friend, romance fanatic Allie Jenkins, has declared that she’s swooping in to save the day. She’s prepared a list of required reading straight from The Ripped Bodice, and I’m supposed to take notes, learn from the best, and put that shit into action. After all, practice makes perfect, right?
Wrong.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Awkward is a hilarious friends to lovers romance that will have you giggling throughout. What’s better than an alpha hero? An awkward hero!! Lily Kate nailed this hero and I couldn’t have been happier!
“Change your shirt, drink a glass of wine, and use that pen. We are going to find you love, Mr. Darcy.”
I have been in this situation ish a time or two in my life, you know the whole I think I have a crush on my guy friend, but do I really want to go there and ruin that friendship? Am I good enough for him? Does he feel the same way? Am I really just like a sister to him?
These are basically the same questions that both Jack and Allie continually plagued with. I mean they have been best friends since they were in bitties! Although Allie can’t stand the thought of anyone else taking Jack away from her she will do whatever she can to see him happy because she can’t stand to see him sad.
Everyone sees that they are are in love with each other… everyone BUT the two of them! It was so cute, except that Jack’s mother just kept butting in and attempting to sabotage the two of them finding love!
If you are looking for an awkward, blunt hero that just says the first thing that pops into his head, while trying to hide his feelings for his best friend Awkward is the book for you!
