“I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong.”
The Silver Swan
– 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
-2. Madison Montgomery.
I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.
Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I’m not sure what I expected with Broken Puppet, but if it was to have everything figured out or a better grasp as to what was happening, well… I was wrong.
Broken Puppet didn’t grab me and suck me in like the first book and the entire book is still like one giant cluster of riddles! I was getting frustrated because I just want to understand!
“They used me as their puppet. Now I’m broken.”
Broken Puppet is a wild ride once you get past the first bit, which is kind of slow paced and a tab unbelievable for me. There was just lots of running around and we have this book that should have answers, but she isn’t reading it, she is just asking people. I realize she is young, but that’s just plain irritating to me.
While this was a good book, it felt a lot like filler, I’m ready for the third book so that we can actually have answers to all of the questions!
Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor.
I still don’t really know exactly what I read, I’m left with more questions than answers. After reading this book I was at a loss but the more I think about it and talk about it with others who have read it the more frustrated I get with this book.
I swear I read one huge freaking riddle and I’m still at a damn loss.
We finally get one huge, giant puzzle piece at the end, but then guess what the girl runs off and the book is over, so we don’t even know exactly what that means to the larger part of the story.
I couldn’t put Broken Puppet down because I really really wanted answers and I was intrigued, but the way the ending was I’m just left frustrated and a bit unfulfilled, I want something more to hold onto until the next book and I will read the next book in hopes to have a better understanding of what the heck is going on.
Riddle me this… what the fuck did I just read?
Madison Montgomery is a character from American horror story who is dead and then alive again too. Is it about the same girl?
No, I don’t believe so.
