The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.

But who said the devil was a he?

In my world, she was out to cause havoc on all our lives.

She’ll use the one thing I care most about to control me—force me into her Elite world, filled with sin, deceit, and power. And under her spell, I’ll lead a sinister brotherhood of seven at one of the most prestigious universities in New Orleans.

Seven tasks set forth by the devil herself, promising nothing less than the forbidden fruit of power. What they don’t understand is it will all end in bloodshed and regret.

They call me the alpha. The one in charge. The one with pride bigger than any task I could be given. And my pride won’t let me be anywhere but at the top of the food chain until she gives me what I truly want.

My task is Meghan Benedict.

She’s too pure for me to touch, too good for me to ruin—and the only thing standing in my way to freedom.

Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak…they’re for The Elite.

As they say, pride comes before the fall.

I am Mason Blackwell.

I am Pride.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This is going to be a very difficult review to write because I want to use all the expletives!

Pride by J.D. Hollyfield shed more light on a character that I already despised and I didn’t think that I could think any less of her as a person, even with her motives revealed I was still disgusted by her behavior and repulsed by her husband as well.

The Elite Seven series has so many moving parts that even though I have some of the answers I was seeking at the end of Lust, more and more questions have cropped up and I am salivating for more to come.

Pride is a fairly short book and could be a quick read unless you are like me and when a book causes you stress and anxiety and then you have to read the book in chunks. Between all of stress and the hot af bedroom scenes that I didn’t feel comfortable reading with my son around you may or may not finish it quickly.

The entire book of Pride, wasn’t just stressful it was balanced well with romance, comedy and you watched as the Elite Seven spent time together and forge what is going to be an unbreakable bond. I think. I could be wrong. But dang. This one is intense and once again, the ending will have you like whoa.
