Office Romances
I recently read Dirty Headlines, an office romance by L.J. Shen, and this is just one of MANY office romances that I’ve read and seen in the romance genre, it’s a massive trope that is highly appealing, which made me curious.
How many everyday people get involved with a co-worker or boss?
The poll above is a snapshot from one week on my Facebook page and 64 people responded with 50/50 split. This doesn’t count for the people that have had a crush on a coworker, because I’m almost positive that number would be higher.
It’s really not surprising that so many people have entered in office romances, when you are spending 40+ hours in close proximity with each other, add in sexual attraction and you are in for difficult time if your office has a no fraternization policy.

Good Girl by Jana Aston
The chemistry between between Lydia and Rhys was palpable from the very beginning of Good Girl, there is just something about making eye contact across the room with stranger that just sends chills down my spine and keeps me there to see what happens and how it all plays out. I love how naive both of them are, even if Rhys doesn’t realize that he is.
Not So Nice Guy by R.S. Grey
Not So Nice Guy is a dual POV story told by Sam and Ian, and what I loved from the beginning was getting inside of their heads and seeing how differently each of them saw the exact same situation. It was miscommunication and misinterpretations galore and it made the story hilarious.
Piece of Work by Staci Hart
I really enjoyed the message in Piece of Work, it was inspiring to see Rin come into her own and she discovered who she was and truly become a force to reckon with. I loved what a little red lipstick inspired her and how it helped bring her confidence in her brain forth into her appearance. That the clothes and make-up didn’t change who she was, but rather helped her out of her shell along with her friends and Court.
The Sex Bucket List by Prescott Lane
The Sex Bucket List is a story that every mother, single or married will be able to relate to. We all end up putting ourselves last and we all deal with a time of mom guilt. And The Sex Bucket List is about finding ourselves again after we realize that we have lost ourselves and identify more as a mother, wife, daughter than we do as our self.
Confessions of a Carpool Captive by Dawn L. Chiletz
Confessions of a Carpool Captive was a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t stop smiling the entire book… well except when I crying, and frustrated. Although, even when I was frustrated, I was still smiling. This book. was full of surprises and I really didn’t want to put the book down.
Dating in the Dark by Alexandria Bishop
Dating in the Dark is a funny read and the premise is awesome and it has lots of texting and I love, love texting in books. However. Something felt a little off. I’m not sure what was off about it honestly. And tbh. The story isn’t over, it’s so far from over and I have so so much I want to say about it, but at the exact same time, I feel like I might give too much away about Dating in the Dark.
Tempt the Boss by Natasha Madison
I loved loved loved the torture these two inflicted on each other… definitely the strangest form of foreplay I’ve ever read. Okay, so it’s probably not what you are thinking of from that first sentence. These two play pranks on one another and these are some amazing pranks!
But First, Coffee by Sarah Darlington
I think what I really adored the most about this story was Joe. He was a breath of fresh air hero! In fact, he’s the complete opposite of the the jerk alpha heroes I’ve read lately and I couldn’t get enough of him. He was sweet and romantic and tender. And goodness I just want to hug him!
The Thing About Love by Julie James
I laughed, and swooned and my heart even broke a few times throughout The Thing About Love. I hated the ending, not because it was a bad ending, but because I had to say goodbye to Jessica and John and I really don’t want their story to be over yet.
The Wright Boss by K.A. Linde
The relationship between Landon and Heidi was hinted at in The Wright Brother and when I finished, there was nothing more that I wanted than to get my hands on this book. Often times when I anticipate a book as much as I did this, they will fall flat, but not this no ma’am. This book had EVERYTHING! Angst, drama, laughter, love.. gah ALL THE LOVE! and the sexy scenes were so dang steamy!
