I’m back with another interview in the Meet the Men interview series! Today I have my interview with Seth King! Seth King released Liberty the beginning of this month and I’m hearing great things, so make sure you pick it up!
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t wearing your author hat?
Read on my Kindle. I’m a huge reader. I usually like political books or personal essays.
What is the first book to make you cry?
Probably Where The Red Fern Grows, or the first Harry Potter, with happy tears
What would you choose as your mascot/avatar?
Tiffany Pollard from I Love New York
What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
I have fifteen sisters. Thinking as a female comes more naturally to me than thinking as a male does.
How do you select the names of your characters?
They just come to me! I don’t even know.
Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
Yes, there are always little cherries for my hardcore readers to find
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
It’s taken eleven days, and it’s taken almost a year. These days it’s about three weeks.
Have you ever participated in Movember?
I actually have a beard for the first time right now!
What are you currently reading?
What Happened by Hillary Clinton, and a collection of short stories by Nora Ephron
If you could go back and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Stop thinking. Stop giving a shit. Do exactly what you want to do, in exactly the way you want to do it. And buy some stock in Apple.
