These are the best hate to love romance books that I have read! It’s funny because I’ll often say that I don’t like the hate to love trope, but I guess I do more often than I realize. Hate to Love often is frustrating because as the reader I know that they are really in love with each other and just fighting the inevitable!
Hate to Love You by Tijan
It is everything I expected from her and more. I know this book will not be for everyone. It deals with some difficult, hard hitting issues, but a lot of Tijan’s books do deal with them. It has a dark feel to it because of these issues. But that will not keep you from falling in love with Kennedy and Shay.
On the Corner of Love & Hate by Nina Bocci
I think that the cover of On the Corner of Love and Hate has the perfect cover to go along with the idealic setting of Hope Lake. I loved all that the town brought to this story and the start of the Hopeless Romantics series. From the crazy old women and the ‘evil’ character running against Cooper in the Mayoral election.
Dear Ava by Ilsa Madden-Mills
I didn’t want to put it down and I had so many guesses as to who was pulling strings and was behind the assault that we know of from the beginning. We just don’t know the who behind the assault. Ava, was so strong to be able to move forward and face all of the people who belittled her. And she still took care of her little brother, who has special needs.
Finding Mr. Wrong by AM Madden & Schwehm
Finding Mr. Wrong was so cute, and I loved the concept of it. These two characters who essentially began the experience as a means to an end, ended up really getting to know each other on a deeper level. It was fun to read while agonizing at times!
The Thing about Love by Julie James
I laughed, and swooned and my heart even broke a few times throughout The Thing About Love. I hated the ending, not because it was a bad ending, but because I had to say goodbye to Jessica and John and I really don’t want their story to be over yet.
Hot Shot Doc by RS Grey
I particularly enjoyed watching the transformation of the hotshot doc, Matt, how he went from the devil reincarnate to a sweet caring man even if he didn’t always show it. He had a seriously job that he took great precaution in.
I Knead You Tonight by Teagan Hunter
Not only was Winston a great book boyfriend, but Drew was such a bad ass single mom, she literally gives her son the shirt off of her back and makes so many sacrifices to make sure that her child never goes without!
Well Met by Jen Deluca
Well Met was funny, quirky with a brooding hero that had me swooning from hand kisses and his brand of woo’ing. He wasn’t perfect and he definitely didn’t have if figured out, but this flawed hero, who dresses as a hot as hell pirate during the renaissance fair just did it for me. I fell IN LOVE with him.
The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory
Often times I can get frustrated with secret romances because I feel like they go on for too long and something should have been done or the relationship should have gone public way before they did. BUT, as soon as The Wedding Party could have got to that point WHAM! Plot twist!
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
I’m also going to admit that the beginning when our fake couple, Olive and Ethan, had some super awkward moments that made me feel particularly particularly uncomfortable. They were thrust in situations that in real life you and I would both be anxious, I mean hello you have to act like a newly wed to a man that you despise!
Catching Carly by Emma Hart
I love Carly and her quirks, just like every other woman she wants a man that will love her and never leave her, but how can you love a man who doesn’t trust you? Zeke is the perfect match for Carly, because she will keep him on his toes and he on hers. The banter between these two is more like foreplay than anything.
Fake Off by Michelle McLoughney
You have Polly Doyle who you can’t help but love, she has gotten herself in a peculiar situation, but it just fits her. “if weird were a human it would be her.” She is hilarious and you will want to be her friend. And her roommate is freaking great!
Flirting with the Frenemy by Pippa Grant
The majority of Flirting with the Frenemy takes place in a small town during a week long pirate festival, where they dig for treasure and dress up as pirates and so much more. Not only that, but there is a cussing parrot and an entire community that I loved so much I was wanting to move there by the end of the book!
Caulk Tease By Alexandria Bishop and Megan Green
Barrett and Monroe got off (pun intended) to a rocky start after what was supposed to be a one night stand. I know what you’re wondering and no, she didn’t get pregnant, that was my hope too lol. It was funny because neither expected to see the other again and then find out that they are going to be working together and Barrett is her boss and her best friend’s brother!
Surprise Baby by Lex Martin & Leslie McAdam
Surprise, Baby had me in stitches, my stomach curling from anxiety and sympathy pregnancy feelings, my heart broke for both Kendall and Drew at different times throughout the entire story. This enemies to lover surprise pregnancy romance is freaking gold and I enjoyed every second of it!
Crank by Adriana Locke
The tension in Crank was high as Walker and Sienna danced around each other in a battle of wits. Even as Walker was doing everything he could to hate Sienna he just kept getting pulled into her orbit.
Tempt the Boss by Natasha Madison
Lauren is a single mom and is strong and fierce AF! You can’t help but admire the balls she has to stand up to her jerk of a boss. Actually, she and Austin flirt like they are elementary kids on a playground, being mean to each other to show them that they like them.
Otterly Scorched by Tara Sivec
I realized as I was reading and falling in love with Dax that I haven’t had a genuine ‘book boyfriend’ in ages! I honestly couldn’t get enough of him! He is sweet and thoughtful and took care of Harley in a way that oddly endearing, but subtle so that Harley didn’t quite realize it was happening.
