Harlem C. Boston is releasing a cute romantic comedy this April, A Princess Doesn’t Kiss Frogs, and I had a chance to interview her ahead the release! She also interviewed me and Harlem has that up on her site.
Mahogany is the owner of a successful branding agency and after being burned in college she thinks she doesn’t have time for love, that is until her college crush shows back up on the scene.
Harlem C. Boston is sure to make you laugh out loud in this romantic comedy!
HEA Novel Thoughts: What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t wearing your author hat?
Harlem C. Boston: I am probably watching a romantic Hallmark movie or some kind of comedy that makes me laugh, and I even love a good murder mystery every now and again, but give me a good romance story and I am hooked for life.
HEA: What is the most recent book to make you cry?
Harlem: You know what now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever read one book that actually made me cry.
HEA: What would you choose as your mascot/avatar? Why?
Harlem: I will have to say a lioness because sure the lion is the king of the juggle, but the lioness is the queen of the world, she’s the reason the lion can be the tough king he is.

HEA: What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
Harlem: I think for me the hardest part is trying to live inside the head of a man, it is just too crazy to think about. Whereas, the girls are somewhat easy, but even with that you have to come up with different personalities’ traits.
HEA: Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
Harlem: I haven’t before, but that is actually something I am contemplating on for the next book in my series.
HEA: How long on average does it take you to write a book?
Harlem: For this one it took me a year and a half. What can I say, I am a perfectionist and I like to make sure the readers are going to have something to look forward to.
HEA: If you could go back and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Harlem: To not take myself too seriously. When you’re younger you kind of look to others for approval and now it’s really about loving myself and not focusing so much on what others think of me.
HEA: Do you have any tips or hacks that help you stay organized in life, writing or social media?
Harlem: To definitely write out a weekly plan before the week begins. Anytime between Friday and Sun works for me, and commit to it.
HEA: Do you relate more to one of your characters than the others?
Harlem: Yes, the main character which is Maho because of her drive for business.
HEA: If a reader discovers your books today, where would you recommend they start reading?
Harlem: Definitely, A Princess Doesn’t Kiss Frogs because it’s the first one in my “Princesses Have More Fun” series.
