I know that we are inundated with COVID-19 but it got me to thinking that a lot of us are feeling stranded, stuck and forced close to people for an extended period of time, so what’s better than books kind of related. These forced proximity romance novels aren’t quite as regulated as we are in real life, but it gives the same vibe I think.
Just take this time to read and imagine if you were quarantined with a sexy stranger, or someone you’ve known for years but never had the chance to really get to know!
Uncharted by Julie Johnson
This couple was stranded on an island after a plane crash. Uncharted deserves all of the praise hands!! I am completely and utterly drained emotionally, in the best way, by the words of Julie Johnson.
Credence by Penelope Douglas
Credence finds our heroine stuck on a mountain, snowed in with her uncle and his sons after her parents death. It’s a steamy and forbidden and very taboo romance that isn’t for the faint of heart.
A Lie for A Lie by Helena Hunting
This couple was forced, by choice into proximity because of a panic attack and a crappy cabin in a rural area of Alaska. Of course they were only in forced proximity for about half the book, but if it wasn’t for that they wouldn’t have the connection they did!
The Fabulist by Dawn L. Chiletz
Think about the forced proximity in The Bachelor and that’s the sort of closeness that you have in this story, because it’s a reality show romance. So this one isn’t very secluded but they still wouldn’t have met or had the connection that they did without this show.
Always Watching by Lynette Eason
This story isn’t quite as isolated either but they are very close together practically around the clock because she is a body guard and his life is being threatened by a stalker. This story is nuts but I was on edge throughout!
Finding Mr. Wrong by A.M. Madden and Joanne Schwehm
This one is kind of a combination of Uncharted and The Fabulist! It’s a reality show romance where you are alone on a beach, this couple hated each other from the beginning but without distractions they learned to love each other.
P.S. I Miss You by Winter Renshaw
Our heroine was convinced to sublease a room for him and her and her new roommate got off to a rocky start and initially couldn’t stand each other because of preconceived notions.
The Price of a Scandal by Lucy Score
Similar to Always Watching this couple is forced together because her image is being tarnished because someone is essentially blackmailing her to the media. In walks or breaks in a fixer to make her appeal to the public again, to really make her shine in the media, but to do so… he must spend as much time as possible with her.
Bride Test by Helen Hoang
This one involves some trickery by a family member where she brings a woman over for our hero and she moves in with him in an arranged marriage, but he doesn’t quite know that it’s going on. It’s a fun and smart story and you will fall in love with this hero.
Surprise, Baby! by Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam
Snowed in this couple who have known each other finally put their differences aside when they are forced to stay in a cabin without electricity and really moves their love story along. So while most of the story isn’t forced proximity, without it the story wouldn’t happen.
Do you have any forced proximity romances that I need to read? I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments!
