Falling in love for Zeke and Delaney could mean risking their friendship. But what’s the worst that can happen when these two best friends share a tiny honeymoon suite? Readers will fall in love with this friends to lovers romance from A.M. Williams. The Holiday Springs Resort series is here and IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU is now live!
Hey, y’all! I’m excited to share my book with everyone and can’t wait for everyone to have the chance to read it! I write southern contemporary romance set in North Carolina (usually). I’m from North Carolina, so I figure I may as well write about the state I love!
What is your favorite part of winter? Did you try to evoke that feeling into your story?
Honestly…I don’t love winter. I feel terrible for admitting that! I’m a warm weather and beach girl. But I guess one thing I love is being able to snuggle up under the covers with some hot chocolate or a coffee and read while watching TV with my hubby.
I did try to show this a little, but it was so hard because I also wanted to show the action of the story. I have a few places where there’s some cuddling to “stay warm.” *winky face*
Does writing as a part of a multi-author series make it easier for you to tell the character’s story or do you feel more constrained by the limitation?
I don’t think it makes it easier, but I also don’t feel constrained. I’m excited by the thought of having the other authors and I think it takes some of the pressure off to create everything just so to make sure it comes through. Though, I am the first to release. That’s maybe a little frightening for me. Way more than having other authors.
Have your parents read your books? Or would that be too awkward for you? I couldn’t imagine my father ever reading a sex scene that I wrote!
My mom does. When she first did, I was mortified. MORTIFIED. It’s gotten better and she doesn’t always read them at release. But she buys every single paperback I publish and when I visit, she has me sign them. She usually lets me know that she’s read the book and what she thinks. She doesn’t comment on the sex, but more on the overall story, characters, and setting. She gives great encouragement and I’m so thankful for her input.
My dad on the other hand…he knows I write. And he knows I write romance. Whether he knows what that means, I’m not sure. Either way…I’m not telling him. He can figure it out for himself if he’s so inclined.
Have you ever gone on a writing retreat? Or do you simply stay in the confines of your own home? Or perhaps you have a she-shed?
I somewhat have. My parents had a beach house (they sold it last year. Major sad for me) and one of the last times I visited, I took myself to the beach to isolate myself so I could write. It went really well. I’d love to do something similar this year if I could. It’s kind of easy for me to do at home because I do have an office and I’ve been known to shut myself in there a few times, but I’d like to just get away with my computer and write for a weekend to really get some stuff done. Maybe soon!
Did you edit anything out of this book that you really loved but it just didn’t work for this story? Can you tell us or are you saving it for a bonus?
I didn’t edit anything out, but I do have an idea for my bonus scene that I wanted to include in the story, but didn’t. Does that count as editing out? Either way, it involves the ice skating rink at the resort and a wobbly North Carolina girl that doesn’t know how to skate. I might have based this scene on me…
With this series taking place in the winter, did you do anything special to get in the winter mood per se, or did you write the story during the winter?
I didn’t. I wrote this book at the start of the worldwide lockdown. I think it was the perfect book to write because I was home like I would be in the winter (I hate the cold) and it also gave me hope for the end of this year with everything changing in the real world.
Two best friends and one tiny honeymoon suite…what’s the worst that could happen?
Delaney always seemed to be the right girl at the wrong time. With her ex-fiance out of the picture, it’s up to me to mend her broken heart. There’s just one problem: I’ve been in love with her since the day we met. With all the romance in the air, it’s hard to fight back the tension between us. What was supposed to be a fun-filled rebound trip between friends suddenly heats up to so much more.
When my ex decided to leave me just three weeks before our wedding, I did the only thing a girl could do. I grabbed my best friend and headed for the mountains to celebrate my newfound freedom and get over my broken heart while taking full advantage of all of the pre-paid amenities that should have happened on my honeymoon. There’s just one problem: Holiday Springs Resort is booked solid and I may have forgotten to change our reservations. Now Zeke and I are forced to share a bed, but am I ready to share my heart again so soon?
Falling in love could mean risking our friendship. Are we both willing to take that leap? One thing is for sure – this trip changes everything.
If you like snowy locales, sizzling romance, and a scene with a hot tub, then you’ll love It’s Always Been You, the first book in a new series.
Escape to the romantic paradise of Holiday Springs and warm up with your next happily ever after.
