SERIAL KILLERS: 101 Questions True Crime Fans Ask by Joni Johnston
Synopsis: “Serial killers haunt our dreams and inspire the terrifying villains of TV shows and horror movies. But how much do you really know about the minds behind the world’s deadliest killers? What drives these murderers to kill and kill again? And what fuels our fascination with the true stories of their horrific crimes?”
Joni Johnston is an author that was able to grab my attention when it comes to crime and serial killers. True crime is something that I like to read about as well as watch documentaries on — Serial Killers: 101 Questions Trime Crime Fans Ask made me feel as if I was watching a documentary. It is a detailed read that was broken down by questions and I advise to read in pieces because of how more information was given. Excellent read especially from a forensic psychologist that has worked in the field.
Cold Cases: Solved Volume 1: 18 Fascinating True Crime Cases by Robert Keller
Synopsis: “18 Baffling True Crime Cold Cases – Solved! including:
The Darkest Shade of Evil: Two little girls go missing from the mall. What happens to them is beyond your most terrifying nightmares.
You’re History: The discovery of a human skull panics a killer into a confession. Perhaps he should have waited for the coroner’s report.
Cold-Blooded: Karen was the former wife of an American icon. But celebrity is no shield against a determined psychopath.
The Janitor: When a preteen girl goes missing from a school, suspicion falls on the one person all of the female students are wary of – the creepy janitor.
A Bullet for Your Broken Heart: Roy Joe had been dealt many tribulations in his life. None of them, though, was as bad as Carolyn.
The Other Ripper: For years, Joan was thought to be a victim of Britain’s most notorious slayer. Her killer turned out to be a different psychopath entirely.
Young Blood: Two teenagers meet up for a moonlight tryst in an abandoned building. One of them won’t make it out alive.
Neighborhood Monster: It was a simple errand, a quick run to the store in a safe neighborhood. It should not have cost a little girl her life.
Plus 10 more horrific true murder cases.”
Cold Cases: Solved Volume 1: 18 Fascinating True Crime Cases is a grabbing read and makes you realize how many cold cases are still unsolved. Luckily, this book focused on the Cold Cases that finally were solved after a few decades. You will like this book for the straight to the point writing and the details about crime that went cold for many years.
True Crime Stories – Deadly Love Triangles by Elizabeth Brighton
Synopsis: “This book features five true crime short stories of everyday people who were driven to do the unthinkable by the person they loved and trusted the most. If it can happen to them it can happen to any of us.
Reading like they were ripped straight from the pages of a Lifetime movie script, these real life crime stories are sure to fascinate and enthrall.”
Between the writing, the romance stories and the endings — I could not put down True Crime Stories – Deadly Love Triangles. The synopsis really does fit the feelings I had while reading this book, it reminded me of a LifeTime film or an episode of Forensic Files. I really liked the way this book was written and made me curious to read more from this author.
