I know that a lot of people are looking forward to 2021 for many reasons, one being that they are completely over this year and all that came with it. I know that the one thing that has helped me more than anything was watching how much worse it could be by learning about serial killers and the gruesome murders that they committed.
That’ probably sounds bizarre, but that’s just me and I’m sure that I’m not alone in that. I’m looking forward to reading more true crime in 2021 and there are some true crime books that look pretty fantastic if I say so myself!
I have six true crime books releasing next year that I think you will be really interesting checking out. Truly fascinating in a morbid way, ya know?
Confident Women by Tori Telfer
I guess because there are so few of them out there, I find women killers truly fascinating. Same reason as so many of us love Snapped, it’s just so surprising, which is why Confident women is at the top of my list for 2021.
Don’t Call it a Cult by Sarah Berman
When reading the description of Don’t Call it a Cult I was surprised that I’d never heard of NXIVM before, especially with it having celebrity backing. That said I dying to delve deeper and learn more about this group and what they’ve done.
History of a Drowning Boy by Dennis Nilsen
Dennis Nilsen is known as Britian’s Jeffery Dahmer and there are quite a few similarities, except he’s not trying to make human zombies. While in prison, the ‘Kindly Killer’ kept a journal and after he passed it was turned into this biography. I can’t wait to get in his head.
Serial Killers at the Movies by Christopher Berry-Dee
I think it’s safe to say that a lot of true crime buffs are also into scary/horror movies and if you are one of those, the Serial Killers at the Movies, will need to be at the top of your tbr. It has interviews with killers that inspired the films, can you handle getting into their twisted minds?
The Babysitter by Liza Rodman and Jennifer Jordan
Can you even imagine finding out that your babysitter, who you trusted and was nothing but friendly and helpful to you growing up was a serial killer? That’s exactly what happened to Jennifer and after obsessing over the case for years, she has brought us this story of the summer she spent with The Cape Cod Vampire.
The Murders that Made Us by Bob Calhoun
Some areas seem to be more fraught with crime than others, and San Francisco is one of those places. The Zodiac killer is still a name that people know to this day and will probably always haunt the bay area city. The Murders that Made Us, shows how the Zodiac and numerous other murders have shaped the cite and the culture of San Fran today.
Make sure you pin this post and the come talk to me on Instagram about your favorite serial killers. I have more true crime for you to read about over here, too.
