Never trust a vampire.

I might have learned that lesson the hard way. But when I find myself in a vampire-owned bar, I don’t have much of a choice. With vampires still trying to assimilate into mainstream society, I’ve done Lucas King a favor by stopping one of his patrons from draining a human dry in the basement of his bar. A favor he’d prefer to repay in bed than in kind.

Vampires and witches have had more than a jaded history, and when witches start showing up dead in surrounding covens, all signs point to something old and powerful. Something that knows the ways of the witches.

Something–or someone–like Lucas.

What’s worse than trusting a vampire? Falling in love with one

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Dead of Night, the first book in the Thorne Hill series by Emily Goodwin, was a blast to read! The story was out of my typical wheelhouse, and stepping out of my comfort zone more than paid off!

Callie, the heroine of Dad of Night, was so kick ass, the first time we meet her she is out hunting demons, you know… just for fun. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know, then you will love her even more when you learn that she runs a book store and loves to read romance. Now that my friend is the kind of witch I want to be friends with.

Lucas our vampire, is one of the oldest and most powerful vampires still around. He’s sexy and mysterious and alpha. I mean what else could we want in a man.

These two together are a serious power couple, quite literally. Callie is a powerful witch and I don’t think she even knows how powerful she is, because the things she was capable of doing shouldn’t have been possible.

There are so many things I could say about Dead of Night, but I’m hesitant because it’s hard for me to explain why I loved it without giving too much away. The story is intense, funny, sexy. There was just enough suspense, and romance to keep you engaged in the story and not quite sure how everything will play out.

I have to admit, that there are a several things regarding both witches and vampires, oh and demons that I really have/had no clue about! I mean, I don’t even know *how* you are turned into a vampire. I googled it and lets just say you get some interesting results.
