Independence day is right around the corner, we will have bright fireworks filling the sky and patriotic music filling the air.  Hot dogs and burgers will be grilling and everyone will be hanging out with their friends and family.

Sometimes we need to take a step back and remember that the men and women of our armed services are the ones that have fought for us tooth and nail to keep up us free and all the things we do on a daily basis.  If it weren’t for these brave men and women, I wouldn’t be able to sit here today and tell you my thoughts on these wonderful romance novels, not could my peers.

I have a teamed up with several of my fellow romance book bloggers to bring you our list of favorite military romance novels.

HEA Novel Thoughts and a group of romance book bloggers have come together to bring you their top military romance reads.

Crazy Good by Rachael Robinson

As an army brat, this book captured perfectly the feelings of knowing there is a countdown happening to when someone you love is leaving you and that he will be in harm’s way while he’s gone. It’s been years since I read it, and I still remember it had me in tears, but it lived up to its title.

The SEAL of Protection Series by Susan Stoker

She writes such GREAT alpha males and smart females! The heroine in the first book is a chemist! I loved Caroline!
Samantha of The Book Disciple

While her heroines may need rescuing, they are never just damsels in distress and are always intelligent and capable. Her heroes are pure alpha, but also amazing and loyal teammates, caring and attentive significant others and amazing fathers (when they have children). The books are always action packed and full of romance, heat and suspense. – Janine of The World was hers for the Reading

A Lovers Lament by K.L. Grayson and B.T. Urrella

Since it is co-written by a former soldier, the scenes at war are gritty and real. Giving an intense and sometimes funny look into a soldier’s view of war. The two main’s povs are balanced beautifully. This is a second chance romance so it is full of tense emotions as the two reconnect, thousands miles away via email and phone calls. It is a very realistic look at long distance love, the life of a soldier and the loved ones who wait for them at home. – Lisa of Words We Love By

Rebecca Yarros Flight and Glory Series

Lots of feels, looks at the challenges of being involved with someone in the military. – Lenore of Celebrity Readers

Tossing It by Rachel Robinson

Great chemistry, sexual tension and a military man on a mission. – Kimberly of Sultry Siren’s Book Blog

The Wounded Love series by Megan Green

These broke me. They were my first military romance and I fell for these characters so hard! Especially Soldier’s Heart because of the story & the dogs. – Megan of A Page to Turn

A SEALs Seduction by Tawny Weber

A super hot military romance but with a bit of reality mixed in. It’s a typical military romance but I loved the main character. – Rachel of Parajunkie

Making Faces by Amy Harmon

I loved this book because it is a unique story, flawlessly written and beautifully told from the first page. Like a lot of Amy Harmon’s books, Making Faces is both sweet and bittersweet. It is full of heartache, unimaginable loss, and ultimately, redemption. It also challenges you to think about what it means to be a hero. While some are reluctant heroes, put on a pedestal by others with high expectations, some are unexpected heroes. It asks questions like ‘can humans be like comic book heroes? – Bex of Totally Bex

Fisher’s Light by Tara Sivec

I saved my recommendation for last. Fisher’s Light by Tara Sivec is a must read. It heartwarming and breaking tale of love, loss and finding each other again after the war.  This story has stayed with me years after reading it!
