Life hasn’t been kind to Harper Evans.
The small-town gossip about her dead dad and drug-addicted mother has taken its toll. But when her mother is admitted to a long-term rehab facility a few hours away, Harper sees her chance for a fresh start.
A shoebox apartment above a Chinese restaurant isn’t exactly the escape she dreamed of, but she makes it work. With limited funds and no social life, she views her new city through a dusty old pair of binoculars.
There’s no harm in looking.
Just a peek and I’ll stop.
Harper finds her new pastime quickly turning into a full-fledged obsession. She begins falling for a man she doesn’t know—has never met—as she watches him have sex through the window of his apartment. Daydreaming about what it would be like if she were one of his conquests.
We all reach a point when watching isn’t enough—when we can no longer just be a spectator in our own life. That’s when it’s supposed to get good, right? When we take control and go after what we want. But what happens when it all blows up in our face and we’re left with less than nothing?
What then?
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Watch and See is so much more than meets the eye! I thought I was about to dive in to a raunchy read with loads of voyeurism and dirty, dirty thoughts. And I did, but it goes so much deeper than that. Watch and See is comical, it’s flirty, it’s stalkerish, and angsty and forbidden. It pretty much has all the things! At one point there was even a bit of a triangle.
“I want to see him without a window or secrets between us.”
Can you imagine watching and fantasizing about a man for months only to meet him in person only to realize that he is forbidden and totally off limits for you? That’s the case for Harper, but to make matters worse is that the sexual tension between her and Luke is off the freaking charts!! Like whoa baby it’s like the flames of lust coming of the pages and licking up your body. Once the lines start blurring is when this story comes to life.
“Luke is my chocolate. He’s the forbidden food – something I’ve denied myself.”
I really want to tell you so much more about this book, but I think it’s best if you uncover the rest of Watch and See by yourself. Watch and See is a journey for both of our characters one that we get watch and see them find themselves as they discover who the really are without relying on their crutches. It was heartbreaking at times, but I loved everything about this story.
Favorite side character alert: Mr. Chen, you will love this man.
Pick up Watch and See and get ready for an amazing story to unfold before your eyes.
