One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.
Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.
Oh, my goodness, gracious! I was hooked on One of us is Lying from the very beginning, I had to know who killed Simon and how! The only times I actually put this book down was when I had to be a mom. I should have sent my son to his grandparents the day I picked this book up!
This story took me on a wild ride of ‘who done it’ and I was so invested in each of these characters lives that I was hoping and praying that they aren’t the murderer. Even when secrets are revealed I still loved and support them. I primarily read romance and let me tell you, I fell hard and fast for Brownyn and Nate together, I was biting my nails I was so stressed to know how this story would end. I was tempted on many occasions to flip to the back of the book and find out the ending. I didn’t and boy was it worth it.
I loved getting to see all 4 of these character’s transformations as the investigation went on and the story unfolded. At first glance, they are nothing but a cliche, but as you read and get to know then you realize they are so much more than meets the surface.
I have never been as vocal reading a story as I was reading this one. The secrets and twists and turns will have you gasping and wanting to scream! You will think you know who the killer was, but then you turn the page and you have a brand new theory! I know people say that they figured it out, but the ride to finding out the truth was such a fun one!
Can you figure out who is lying?
